Tracking the Brink Expedition on World Wind

This isn’t a new page, but I just got reminded about it from a forum post, another great use of World Wind.

From the Brink expedition site –

Imagine attempting a global traverse that would take you 50,000 kilometers through some of the most difficult terrain and extreme weather on the planet, all the time attempting to use only human power and the natural elements.

Starting deep in the heart of Amazonian South America the Brink Expedition will encounter unforgiving Patagonian winds, snowed over Himalayan Mountain passes, monsoons on the sub-continent and the oppressive heat of Australia’s Red Centre.

Clicking the World Wind banner at the top of the Brink tracking page will open World wind and take you to their current location , pretty cool.

A person in a motorized wheelchair sits outdoors overlooking a wide landscape of fields, trees, and a distant town. The wheelchair is fitted with mounted devices and has a “STARK INDUSTRIES” label. The person wears a Guardians of the Galaxy T‑shirt and a cap that says “STARK” Above the photo is the GoFundMe logo, and below it the campaign title reads: “Help Daniel Replace His Failing Wheelchair and Stay Active.”
